FABIO AMBROSINI SHOOT BOXE EUROPEAN CHAMPION
A 5x 3’ match of strong intensity and action. Fabio Ambrosini (University of Fighting, Milano) trained by Mr. Boris Viale, and Davor Jugovac of Pula Trojan Team, trained by Mr. Zelg Galesic, didn’t spare themselves and on Saturday 27th June, at sporthall in Vercelli, since the very first start, they set up a very high level match from a technical and an athletic point of view. None of them were thinking of investing so many energies and efforts in the match. Fabio, a bronze medalist in the 2008 Eurasian Championships, had to give everything he had to beat his opponent who, at the same time, didn’t expect the Italian school to be at those levels. Both fighters used all their abilities, both in standing position or on the canvas. Fabio looked better when using his formidable solid low-kicks, while the Croatian fighter seemed to prevail while wrestling on the ground. Both of them suffered hard moments. Amborsini got a superb left hook which almost knocked him out, while Jugovac was reached by powerful straightforward punches right when the bell sang saving him from a difficult situation. His opponent Fabio was exactly in the same kind of situation when he was almost strangled and the bell sang to stop his action. A real good match which satisfied the good audience there. The three judges on duty agreed to grant 2 rounds advantage for the Italian fighter (second and fourth round), while the Croatian won only the 3rd round. Fabio then conquered his first title and his fans showered him with famous Italian sparkling wine, a party organized by young promoter Mr Emanuele Genovesi which ended till 4 o’clock in the morning!
